Datenschutz
Stand: 8. Oktober 2026
- Keine Werbung, kein Tracking, keine Analyse.

3. Was auf deinen Geräten liegt
Dort liegt:
- der verschlüsselte Eintrag. Weder Apple noch wir können ihn lesen, auch nicht den Namen der Gruppe;
- eine Kennung der Gruppe. Sie ist aus dem Einladungslink berechnet; aus ihr lässt sich weder der Link noch ein Inhalt zurückgewinnen;
Privacy
As of 8 October 2026
In short
- No account with us, no password. Your name comes from your Apple ID or from you. It stays on your devices and is stored encrypted in your groups – we learn neither it nor your e-mail address or phone number.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics. The app contains no third-party components.
- We cannot read what you enter. Every entry is encrypted on the iPhone before it leaves it. Only the members of a group hold the key: it is part of the invitation link.

2. Your name (“Sign in with Apple”)
So that the others in a group can see who you are, the app needs a name. It offers “Continue with Apple” for that: Apple then gives the app the name of your Apple ID and an identifier that is valid for this app only. We do not ask for your e-mail address. No account is created with us; name and identifier are transmitted to nobody, us included. You can type a name yourself instead.
3. What is on your devices
Your groups, the members' names and the expenses are stored on your iPhone. Remove a group, and it is gone from it.
Which groups you are in, who you are in them and what you are called is also kept in your iCloud Keychain. It is end-to-end encrypted and readable only by your own devices; that is how your groups are back on a new iPhone. Neither Apple nor we can read it.
4. Syncing between iPhones (iCloud)
So that everyone in a group sees the same thing, the app files every entry encrypted in iCloud – in a database Apple runs for this app (CloudKit). It holds:
- the encrypted entry. Neither Apple nor we can read it, nor the name of the group;
- an identifier of the group. It is computed from the invitation link; neither the link nor any content can be recovered from it;
- what Apple records when an entry is filed: time, size, and a pseudonymous identifier, assigned by Apple, of the iCloud account it came from.
The app also uses this identifier itself, on the group's iPhones: a name in a group belongs to the iCloud account that took it first. No other account can go by it afterwards, and an entry shows whose iPhone it really came from. Nobody learns who is behind an identifier – we do not either.
To add entries, your iPhone has to be signed in to iCloud. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: without this syncing there would be no shared group. Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland) processes the data under its own privacy policy.
A group is a shared log: a correction, or deleting an expense, is itself a new entry added to that log. The encrypted entries therefore stay in iCloud for as long as the group exists.
Deleting: any member can dissolve a group for everyone. Each iPhone then takes its entries out of iCloud the next time it opens the app; all that remains in iCloud is the note that the group was dissolved.
5. The invitation link
Whoever has a group's invitation link is a member: they can read everything in it and add to it. Pass it on only to people who belong. A member cannot be removed afterwards.
6. Notifications
If you allow it, Apple sends your iPhone a notification when something new was filed in one of your groups. It carries no content – only that there is something new.
7. This website
When you open an invitation link in a browser, Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA) delivers this page and processes the connection data needed for that: IP address, time, page requested (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, secure operation). Processing in the USA is possible.
- The part of the link that opens the group (after the # sign) is not sent to the server by the browser.
- The page sets no cookies, loads nothing from other providers and counts no visitors.
- If you tap “Take the invitation along”, the page puts the link on your device's clipboard. The app reads the clipboard only when you tap “Paste” there, and clears it afterwards.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77).
You can delete yourself: by dissolving the group (section 4). Because we can neither read entries nor attribute them to a person, we can handle requests only for a group as a whole – and only if you give us its invitation link. We then dissolve it for you and remove what is still in iCloud afterwards.
