Hilfe

Woher kommt mein Name?

Help

NanoSplit splits expenses in a group – no account with us, no password.

How do I invite someone?

Open the group. At the top right, the QR symbol shows a code the others scan with their iPhone camera; the share symbol sends the same link as a message.

I scanned the code before I had the app

Tap the large button on the invitation page: it puts the invitation on your clipboard and takes you to the app. Once it is installed, open NanoSplit and tap “Paste”. Or simply scan the code again when the app is there.

Who can see my group?

Only those who have the invitation link. Entries are encrypted on the iPhone; neither Apple nor we can read them. So send the link only to people who belong – nobody can be taken out later.

Nothing arrives on my iPhone

NanoSplit syncs through iCloud. Check in Settings that your iPhone is signed in to iCloud and online. What you enter while offline is not lost: it is sent as soon as there is a connection.

Where does my name come from?

The first time, the app asks for the name of your Apple ID with “Continue with Apple”. This creates no account with us, and your e-mail address is not requested. You can type a name yourself instead.

Can someone pass as me?

No. Your name in a group is tied to your iCloud account as soon as you have taken it – the member list then shows a seal next to it. No other account can go by that name afterwards, and every expense shows whose iPhone entered or last changed it. Names without a seal are still free: someone was entered but does not have the app yet.

New iPhone?

Nothing to do: sign the new iPhone in with the same Apple ID and open NanoSplit – your groups are back, and the app knows who you are in them. This runs through your iCloud Keychain. If it is switched off, open the group's invitation link and tap your name in the list.

How do I leave a group?

In the group under “Members”, or by swiping in the list of groups. You can leave once your balance is zero.

How do I delete a group?

Under “Members”, with “Dissolve Group for Everyone”. After that nobody can add anything, and every iPhone takes its entries out of iCloud the next time it opens the app. Each iPhone keeps showing the last state until the group is removed from it. This cannot be undone.
